Thursday’s Beginner Band Concert

We are excited for your student’s first band concert coming up this Thursday, October 12 at BMS! Please read through this information sheet that was given to students and discussed with them in class this past Friday. Here are some important points to remember:

  • Young gentlemen need to wear a belt as part of their band uniform, and all students need to tuck in their band shirts. This gives our students a polished and professional look for all of our performances. They should wear closed-toed shoes such as tennis shoes and the like, but no crocs, sandals, Birkenstocks, flip flops, etc.
  • Students and parents should arrive by 6:15pm to give them enough time to be seated and in place ready to perform no later than 6:25pm. Part of their grade is contingent on this as part of our guideline to Be Punctual. Our concert will start promptly at 6:30pm and should end around 7:15-7:30pm.
  • Parking will be crowded due to the volleyball games that usually happen at the same time in our gyms, so plan ahead accordingly. There is a construction project taking place in the area, so you will probably have to park on the opposite side close to the M100 Practice Field and Tiger Stadium.

Feel free to invite as many family members and friends as you would like, and email your child’s director if you have any questions.

Last Chance to Sign Up for Fundraiser!

Our SnapRaise Fundraiser launches on Wednesday, so we wanted to send out one last reminder to sign up and set up your account if you haven’t already done so. We only have 30 students who have signed up so far and we would like to have many more participate so they can collect donations for their Spring Trip and individual awards and other band events. Click on this link to sign up: http://raise.snap.app/join_code/641342567, and the video here can help explain the set up process if you are having trouble: https://vimeo.com/479649033/56b06a761d.

For those who have signed up and set up their account, most of them only have just a few email addresses loaded (less than 10). Our goal to shoot for is at least 20 email addresses and 10 cell phone numbers for texting. However, the system will still work and send out the invitations to donate even if you have less than 20. Make sure your emails/phone numbers do not include other students, fake emails/numbers, etc., and are only legitimate potential donors. After tomorrow, you can also send out your fundraiser page via your social media to ask for donations.

Please email the directors if you have any questions, and thank you for participating in our fundraiser!
