Temple JazzFest Results

For the second time in recent history, the BMS Jazz Band received straight first division superior ratings at this year’s Temple Jazz Festival! The judges were very complimentary of our performance, and one of them thought we sounds like a high school group! Here are some of their comments:

  • “Time and intonation is nice.”
  • “Sounds really nice – great spirit.”
  • “Balance is really nice – I can hear all the sections.”
  • “There’s a lot of really awesome musicianship in this group!”

The following students were named outstanding soloists and received a certificate:

  • Phoenix M., alto saxophone
  • Eli P., piano
  • Clint D., trumpet
  • Jakoby P., tenor saxophone
  • Gia R., drums

Band Notes Newsletter – Week of March 18

We hope everyone had a great Spring Break and is adjusting well to the time change. We have Temple Jazz Festival performance this week and students will receive their Spring Trip Eligibility Statement & Intention Form. UIL Evaluation Recap

For the first time in recent history, BOTH Symphonic Band and Wind Ensemble received straight first division superior ratings FROM ALL 6 JUDGES at Wednesday’s UIL Concert & Sightreading Evaluation! THANK YOU PARENTS for your support with sectionals, lessons, and especially to the chaperones that helped out. Both judges and directors were impressed with the amount of parents we had show up in droves in support of our performances yesterday! This was truly a group effort and we could not have done it without your help!
