Online Solo Contest Ratings

After students perform their solo, they can look up their rating using this online database that is organized by class period at the bottom: tinyurl.com/beltonmssolo

It is also listed by student ID number for privacy reasons, and feel free to find their ID number now to make sure I included it on the list!  A rating of “1” is for Division I Superior, “2” for Division II Excellent, and “3” for Division III Average.  An asterisk (*) by an ID number means that the student was selected as an Outstanding Performer by the judge.

This database should be especially helpful since students will not get to see their judge’s sheet until next Wednesday the 23rd due to no school next Monday and Tuesday.  Message Mr. Pulley if you have any questions, and we wish our students best of luck and preparation for this solo contest!

Pre-UIL Benchmark Concert & Evaluation

Click here to find detailed information for Friday’s Pre-UIL Benchmark Concert & Evaluation.  For this concert, students will need to wear their formal concert attire and be prepared with all materials, including music, pencil, and instrument in good working order.  Students will need to take their instrument home after school this Friday in order to bring it to the high school.

Symphonic Band students will need to arrive at the Belton HS Orchestra Room by 5:45pm, while Wind Ensemble students need to arrive at 6:45pm.  This may be the only time family and friends will get to hear our 2022 UIL Performance, so please invite them to attend.  There will be judges listening to us perform and writing comments.  All performing students are required to attend, and this is a required performance for a major grade.  As always, if you have any questions, please let us know.

List of Remaining Band Events

During this busy time of the year, we have included below an updated list of band events for the rest of this 2021-2022 school year.  Please make sure these are added to your family calendar at home, and email Mr. Pulley if you have any questions or conflicts that may arise from this schedule.  Thanks!

Band Picture Day

This week, students will receive an order form for band pictures that we will take next Wednesday, February 2.  Students will wear their uniform and have their instruments in a group picture we will take in the competition gym.  This is for publication in the yearbook, and available for parent/student purchase.  We will also have individual photos being taken in the Ensemble Room if you wish to have one made for your student with their instrument and uniform.

Students who do not have their band uniform on Picture Day will not be allowed to be in the picture.  Students must BE PREPARED and be responsible for having their uniform on Picture Day.

We prefer that order forms be filled out ahead of time and money brought the day of the pictures in order to purchase them.  Photo Texas will have “Last Chance” forms the day of where students will have to fill in their parents’ contact information, including email address and photo number.  You can contact them directly by visiting their website phototexasphotography.com or by calling 800-883-6463.

Beginners will need to wear their band shirt tucked into jeans with closed-toed shoes and a belt for young gentlemen.  Their large group will be taken during 2nd period STRIPES time starting around 9:00am.  Individual pictures with instruments will be taken during their respective band period.

Symphonic Band and Wind Ensemble will take their pictures during their respective band period.  These students need to wear their formal band uniform, which is their polo shirt tucked into black pants, black socks and shoes, as well as a black belt for gentlemen.  We will also take an additional All-Region Band picture for those students who qualified.

Jazz Band will need to wear their formal jazz uniform with black pants, black socks and shoes, as well as a black belt for gentlemen.  This will take place during their normal 3rd period class.

Please email a director if you have any questions.
