Beginners finish up their flashcards test and learn parts of their instrument, while Advanced students (Symphonic Band & Wind Ensemble) start after school Sectionals this week. In this week’s edition of Band Notes, we have a developing healthy practice habits video and our Beginners will start their music literacy lessons, including memorizing the staff chant. Symphonic Band and Wind Ensemble had a great day of learning on Saturday at our first annual Region Boot Camp. These students will start playing in class on Monday as we prepare for our first performance of the year at MS Band Night at Tiger Field on Friday, September 6. We need approved parent chaperones for this event, so please sign up using your CutTime MagicLink. Happy First Week of School! In this issue of the Band Notes Newsletter, the Extracurricular Code of Conduct must be signed by both students and parents by this Thursday, August 15. This can be done in your CutTime MagicLink, the PDF found in the newsletter, or the hard copy found in the Band Hall. All of the steps on the Registration Checklist and all Forms must be completed by this Thursday as well as having all band supplies and materials at school in your student’s band locker. Our Region Boot Camp is this Saturday, August 17 at BMS from 10am to 3pm for all Symphonic Band and Wind Ensemble students.
