8th Grade MS Band Night Performance

Please note that the following information only pertains to 8th grade band students:

Parents, please read the attachment detailing information for our MS Band Night at Tiger Field on Friday, September 10. This is a required performance and is a major grade for our curriculum. Please email your child’s ensemble director with any questions you have.

Last Call for Band Uniform Shirts

This is the last notification to order band uniform shirts for the entire year. This also includes parent chaperones who would like to order a shirt to our events when they help out. Click here to fill out the form: https://forms.gle/Hdbqnu15icDot6mt9.

Beginner shirts are $10, Symphonic Band/Wind Ensemble polo shirts are $20, and the Jazz shirts are $25. All orders need to be completed no later than this Sunday, August 22. We need to order shirts to get them made and back in time for 8th graders’ first performance at MS Band Night on Friday, September 10.

Parent Slideshow and Reminders

Thank you to those of you who attended our parent meeting Thursday evening in the Belton MS Band Hall – we had a great turnout! For those of you who could not make it, click on this link to see the slideshow: tinyurl.com/beltonmsbandparents, as well as this link to download the handouts.

Remember that the Registration Checklists are due to the Band Directors by Thursday, August 19. Click here for the Beginner Checklist and here for the Advanced Checklist. All instruments, supplies, and materials are also due by this date, and clicking here will take you to those lists.

Tiger Camp will be happening for new students to BMS next Monday, August 16 from 4:00-6:00pm. This is a great time for students and parents to drop off their instruments and supplies in their locker in the Band Hall. They should be receiving their class schedule that you can walk around the campus to visit the classroom. Teachers will not be available to visit with students and teachers at this time. That will happen during Open House, which is on Thursday, September 9 from 5:00-7:00pm.

Band Web Store Now Active

Our web store through Belton ISD (RevTrack) is now live for parents who wish to pay for their band fees online using a credit/debit card, including the School-Owned Instrument Usage Fee, Uniform Shirts, and the optional Auto Decal.  Please Note: Sales tax will be added, as well as a 4% service fee to your purchase when you use this option: http://tinyurl.com/beltonmsbandstore.

Alternatively, parents can choose to pay with cash or a check made out to BMS with a valid phone number by putting their payment in a sealed envelope and writing their student’s name and the item(s) they are purchasing on the front side of the envelope.  Students should give their money envelope directly to an adult, and NOT place it in the turn-in box in the Band Hall.  The front office staff will accept payments for Band as well. 

Just a reminder that payments for uniforms shirts, auto decals, and instrument usage fees are due by Wednesday, September 15.  We will also accept payments at Tiger Camp on Monday, August 16 from 4:00-6:00pm.  Don’t forget our parent meeting Thursday from 5:30-6:30pm in the BMS Band Hall.  Hope to see you there!

Band Parent Meeting – Thursday, August 12

On Thursday, August 12 from 5:30-6:30pm, the band directors will be presenting important information in the Belton MS Band Hall to help your child be successful in Band. The map to find the Band Hall at BMS can be found by clicking here. We will be covering our expectations, sharing practice habits, and how you as their parent can help them grow to be the best musician they can be.

Though the information is geared more for students new to our program, all band parents can benefit from this information. We will have time for questions at the end of the presentation, and we want this time is to be used to start a dialogue of clear communication between directors and parents.

If you still need to have the directors check student supplies and materials, please wait until Tiger Camp, which is the school orientation on Monday, August 16 from 4:00-6:00pm. Please email a director if you have any questions, and we hope to see you next Thursday!
