Instrument Check-In

This message is only for parents of band students who play a school-owned instrument:

As we get closer to the end of this school year, we need to have all school-owned instruments (including home instruments) brought back to school no later than Wednesday, June 2

We also still have some students/parents who have not finished paying the rest of the usage fee.  Please take care of this by this date as well by paying via cash or check made out to BMS with a valid phone number.  The front office can accept these payments as well if that is more convenient.

We will inspect each instrument and decide if it needs to go to the shop for summer repair/flush cleaning, or if it can be checked out to a student for the summer.  We do not charge a fee for instruments to be checked out over the summer.  If you would like to bring back home instruments earlier, we will start accepting these starting next Monday, May 24.  If it’s more convenient for you to bring the instrument back during the school day, feel free to just drop it off in the front office anytime during normal school hours.

If your student would like to have an instrument checked out for the summer, please email Mr. Pulley and we will do our best to accommodate this request.  This will be done on a first come, first serve basis.  Thank you for your help as start to close out this school year!

Jazz-O-Rama Concert next Monday

Click here to find the itinerary and information for our Jazz-O-Rama Concert this coming Monday, May 10 at the Belton HS PAC.  This also serves as our semester exam for Jazz Band.  Please plan on having your student stay for the duration of the concert, plus we need help putting away stands and chairs afterward.  This should be done by 8:00pm.  This is a concert you don’t want to miss!

8th Grade Reminders

A couple of reminders for this coming week.  First, 8th Grade Shirt designs are due to Mr. Pulley by this Friday, May 7 by 4:00pm.  They can be hand-drawn, traced, or computer-generated, but they need to be submitted as a hard copy so students can see them and vote for their favorite.  The artist of the winning design gets a free shirt, and the design does not necessarily have to be band related.  It does, however, have to be appropriate for school.  The back of the shirt will feature all of the 8th grade band students with their surprise nicknames! Please contribute to start this new tradition!

Also, video submissions for the M100 Auditions are due to the M100 Google Classroom no later than Sunday, May 9.  Feel free to send a pre-audition video ASAP to either Mr. Pulley or Mr. Trahan via Schoology if you would like some constructive feedback on your preparation.  Don’t wait to the last minute to submit your video!  Ask a director if you have any questions.
